there are as many interpretations to the concept of light and dark as there are limitless shades in between black and white. light & dark can be seen as a perpetually alternating cyclic state of being or viewed as opposing entities that contradict and eradicate each other.
we want to experience your interpretation of this concept, translated into a piece of art that evokes a unique understanding of this idea as old as life itself.

LIGHT & DARK residencies is an online art residency open to artists working in all disciplines, hosted by emptyroom.art in partnership with CCMA – Goethe Center Maputo
The residency consists of an online workshop, followed by a 2-week artistic creation period, during which each artist will work in their own studio and document their process. The 4 selected artists will receive a 100 Euro stipend, and the possibility to exhibit the work produced during the residency at the CCMA Gallery in Maputo*.
